Customs and Excise PROFILE

In the year 2016, the Division had two hundred and forty (240) number of officials, out of which 86% are male and 14% female.

More than 75% of the male officials which accounts to one hundred and fifty four (154) staff falls in supervisory and support level while the remaining forty nine (49) staffs are from P5 to P1 level.

In the year 2016, there are thirty four (34) female staff out of which thirteen (13) female officials’ ranges from P5 to P1 level while other twenty one (21) officials are in the supervisory and support level.

The allocation of manpower to regional offices depends on the volume of trade, customs transaction and number of check post under their jurisdiction.

In terms of distribution, Phuntsholing Region has highest number totaling to seventy four (74) officials. Fifty-six officials are in supervisory and support level and eighteen (18) officials are in P5 to P1 level.

The second highest is Samdrup Jongkhar Region with forty (40) officials and the third highest is Paro Region with thirty nine (39) officials.

Bumthang Region has the lowest number of official with only one official at supervisory and support level followed by Mongar Region with two officials.
